Soon the Cleveland Indians will probably be the fourth team in baseball to be officially taken out of 2010 playoff contention (their "elimination number" is 11). They currently have the worst record in the American League Central with 53-77 (.408). The Cleveland Indians are historically a decent team. Since starting in 1901, the franchise has a winning record with 8,675 wins and 8,351 losses. The Indians have made it to the playoffs 10 times, won the AL pennant 5 times, and won the World Series twice (they beat the Brooklyn Robins in 1920 and the Boston Braves in 1948). Recently, the Indians even played in the 2007 ALCS, where they were defeated by the Boston Red Sox in Game 7 at Fenway Park.
